Your eyebrows will be too dark and look unnatural right after the treatment. This is completely normal. The healing period is an emotional roller coaster. You might think having the treatment was a bad idea when you have to deal with the scabs. Then your brows might appear too light and patchy. Bear in mind that all of this is a part of the healing process.
Don’t forget that powder brows treatment is a 2-visit-procedure. The first, mandatory touch up is there to fix the gaps, patches and all the irregularities that appeared during the healing process.
At the end of the healing period, assuming the treatment was done right, you will get what you wanted and probably be satisfied with the outcome.
Usually, there are 6 stages of the ombre powder brows process, and some of them may be very annoying.
You will most likely go through all of them, but some might not be as intense, while others can be worrying. Inform yourself what is normal and what is not and contact your artist if something does not look common and worries you too much.
The powder brows treatment is fresh, which means that your brows will probably be red and swollen. Also, they look like a block of color and the pigment is too dark. What you need to do is to calm down and stop checking them every five minutes. Also, you mustn’t touch them or wash them. If advised by your esthetician, just blot your eyebrows with a clean, dry cloth.
The color will fade a little bit, but it is still far from the final look. Your eyebrows have just started to heal. If the redness is still present and intense and your brows are itchy, ask your artist to check if this is usual.
Annoying scabbing stage starts. Some people’s powder brows will scab more than others, which is normal because everybody heals differently. Some itchiness is also normal but you are not allowed to scratch your brows. You might ruin the treatment. Powder brows usually scab in one big or a few big pieces.
Some scabbing is normal, but if you experience extensive scabbing, contact your powder brows artist immediately.
The scabbing stage is done and your eyebrows might look patchy and too light. Don’t freak out and think that your powder brows disappeared! They appear too light because your skin forms new layers over the pigment. The color will come back and the touch up will fix up the patches.
The hardest period is behind you and now you can be more relaxed even though your eyebrows haven’t taken their final shape yet. You can start wearing makeup and go back to your everyday routine. Still, try not to sweat too much and spend too much time in the sun.
Your brows are completely healed. They will probably look great much earlier, right after the first touch up. The first touch up is mandatory and you should not skip it. Its purpose is to fix all the irregularities and change what you are unsatisfied with.
Powder eyebrows are a semi-permanent makeup technique that consists of the pigment insertion into the surface layers of the skin using ‘dotting’ technique. The artist uses specialized tools to create a misty, powdery effect on client’s brows.
The procedure consists of the initial insertion of the pigment, and a touch-up that takes place a couple of weeks after the initial procedure.
